Thru Hulls
« on: April 06, 2009, 07:18:50 AM »
Have read the post on installing valves but is there a reason that check valves couldnt be used? If you put a ball check in water could only go one way. Just a thought.  grtn

My experience with check valves is that they leak after a while. Once corrosion gets on the valve rim it begins to build up with salt and it will leak.  I would go with a valve that has a positive manually closing for the sea cock. This way there is no mistaking a closed valve.
