NJSW Chart Viewer

For those who have not yet used it, i would like to call to your attention an extremely useful and effective resource availible on the NJSW home page.  I ran into it recently after overlooking it many times.  The chart viewer is simply an online map with both sattelite photos and a chart per se.  Thanks Hotrod for providing the communtiy with this fish-finding helper!! ;D

w0w that is awesome, i didnt realize that you can find such detail on a map like that. I just looked at the spots i usually fish and its so cool, it shows where all the rock piles are and how deep it is. This is awesome. double triple thumbs up  t^ t^ t^

very nice, be advised there is a lot of new-ish sand at the tip of sandy hook-- you can see it in the satellite view when zoomed in, but it is not shown in the (outdated) chart view. Last year we were bassin in what the GPS said was 8 ft of water 500' from shore near the false hook-- we were actually more like 50' off the beach in more like 4' of water, almost in breakers... It gets dark out there at night...

Just like the nice CG lady told me as she slapped the VSC safety sticker on YSA- "You best keep those charts updated!!!!"

I recall a couple of boats being beached up there last year. Probably using old information/charts.

I use that chart frequently. Many of the homepage goodies on the sidebar are very helpfull. Take the time to check them out and see what they are about. Also some of the sponsors links are helpfull too. ;)
