What should I fish for tomorrow ?
« on: April 17, 2009, 05:26:37 PM »
Hey guys,
Im thinking about taking my girlfreind to do some surf fishing down in Sandy Hook. I want to walk the point, i know its a pretty far walk, but its a good place to fish. She said she wont mind the walk. Should I clam it up and spoon it up, maybe catch some stripers ? I heard there doing alright with them now.  I just want her to reel in some fish from the surf, (she never has). I dont care if its a skate, a sea robin, etc. But for myself, I want to catch a nice striper. Blue fish around ? Im very lost right now. I'm a fluke person myself.

If anyone knows any spots in Sandy Hook to fish off the Beach (not a pier), please let me know. Id like to walk less, but I know the point is a good spot.  t^

If its me go for the walk.  Bring a couple of poles and clams along with just enough tackle if you break off.  A beach towel and some goodies.  Chill out with the poles in a sandspike and just spend some quality time.  And oh yeah don't forget to talk to your girlfriend after all what is more important... rofla rofla hhppy

Try the bayside there as well...might be more productive.  Be careful of the nude bathing beach too...you never know what Cabin Fever might bring out tomorrow >:D :P!

Cliffwood Beach, Laurence Harbor, South Amboy.....  all good spots to drown some clams!  I have not seen many reports from oceanside, and certainly not any of the yellow eye'd monsters!  They'll be here soon enough!  Best of luck!

right off the nude beach is a set of clam beds.. it would probably be the best place to start.  After a storm, the clams wash up on the shore..

WARNING...WARNING...WARNING...

You do not want to go to the nude beach in the summer. If you do, this is what you will most likely come across.
