Another report... Rock hopping, the back and the creek
« on: April 19, 2009, 12:23:39 PM »
Couldnt take it anymore yesterday with the weather. Threw my gear in the jeep and stopped at FHQ for bait and a report.

Hit the south Jetty at barnegat inlet with my friend chris and we walked the whole jetty with plugs and live eels to the end without a tap... came back and tried for toggies under the lighthouse with greenies with no luck.

Then we headed to the dike outback and ran into my buddy rob from another site.. He fished bait while we plugged with no luck.

Last shot was at the mouth of oyster creek.... Crowded as all hell and the current was FLYING outta the creek. We had to watch our casting bigtime, snagged each other twice.

All in all, good day/night but I missed sonic by 5 minutes  ??? closed just as I got there for my usual cheese fries.  rgmn rgmn rgmn

I did scope out some nice pockets and holes in the south jetty that weren't there last fall :D

I think it will still be a bit before the bass are in heavy out front. I have a few prospects off the tip of the jetty Im gonna try. When the blues start coming in heavy Ill know the striped ones will be here.

Good try.  The season has just begun be patient and above all stay safe out on the jetty's.  Get ready for the yellow eyed worriers around Mother's Day.  They are usually in the inlet pretty thick and out back as well.

Good luck but above all keep safety in mind.  Those rocks can be a killer.  I'll wave to ya from the other side.

Happy Catching

Yeah I usually have it on ch 5.  I hope it still works, it has not been on due to lack of operators out there lately.  I use ham radio more on the beach now a days and cell phone.
