Whiting-Yes Whiting
« on: April 27, 2009, 07:11:07 AM »
We were fishing in the Mudhole in about 140 feet and what do we start picking WHITING. I couldnt believe it. Now this was not great fishing and we only caught 3. But this is a great sign.
We were not on a wreck and were in open bottom not far from The Farms

There usually mixed in with the winter flounder because of colder water.I 've even seen pollack mixed in too.Do you recall the bottom water temp?

That is a great sign. Hopefully we will see a return of them in years to come.

Thank for the report on them.  t^

I read the report that The Party Boat Angler out of Atlantic Highlands, NJ boated twenty whiting on Sunday, April 26.  The have also been doing very well with the ling fishing in their resent trips.

Twenty whiting.  The last time you heard that was??????  I know, a long time ago.  In February 2008 I landed two nice whiting on an offshore sea bass trip.
