Point Pleasaant Area this weekend (May 14-16)
« on: May 12, 2009, 10:31:25 PM »
Haven't been down for about 3 weeks and looking for some input on whats going on in the Point Pleasant area (Manasquan Inlet, Surf, Mantoloking Bridge, etc). Would like to get on a boat but prices are a little steep for me atm with the expenses of my upcoming wedding.  Would like to aim for stripers if possible.

Drew, check out the Point Pleasant Canal post. There is a lot of info on where and how to fish the canal.

I think the surf or the canal would be your best bet now.

Good luck.

She already got a ring(engagement) that could have got me a boat. She wants a baby. I could try the baby for a boat trick. rofla

Either way it is going to be expensive... rofla hhppy

If you are looking to go out this weekend the Manasquan Inlet was pretty hot today, so they say.  It looks like the incoming tide would be the best.  Bay Head was good as well.  Unfortunately I was caught in the middle today at Ortley.  I saw 2 nice fish weighed in at Grumpy's this afternoon caught in SSH.  Plus IBSP has been spottie but the bass are there if you work for them.  Find a hole and work it with clams or pencil poppers.

I am thinking on going back over towards dusk and work the back for a while.  They are catching some nice bass on herring and flies in a herring (deceiver pattern).

So if you get a chance come on down the bite is heating up both on the surf and in the inlet.

Good luck

Happy Catching

Even though I did not catch today there were plenty of keeper size bass being weighed in at Grumpy's today and yesterday.  I saw a nice 12.6 pounder on the scales all caught on clams.

The reports have it that fish are being caught from just north of Manesquan Inlet down to LBI.  I saw a lot of bird action today so the bunker are around.  You should start to see plenty of action at the inlet itself this weekend.  My best advice is to try either bunker chunks or clams.  Best time is at dawn or dusk.  I hope this helps.

Happy Catching

grtn Drew, if your atm thinks your expenses for your upcoming wedding are steep, wait until your atm sees the cost of ..., never mind, you'll find out.   cfzd   Save yourself some monies Drew, fish the ledge for stripers now out of the Point Pleasant area, before you jump!   rofla

Check the Fares out for a 1/2 day fishing trip on the Jamaica II.   t^  No association, usual disclaimers.

Congratulations to you and your new bride!   TT^  Drew, I have heard it said and believe it to be true that change is good, and in my case, even spare change.

Only joking future Mrs Drew, only joking.   chrz
