The start of the fluke season seems to have a better bite inside shark river then outside in the ocean.

However because of the short drifts many of us favor the ocean

Where are you fishing Saturday?

I will be outside. Will be looking for a decent spot to haul in some of the bigger fish out there.  t^

I will be hibernating in the back yard lounging in the Hot Tub thinking about opening the pool.  The summer crazies will be here and I stay away from the water and beaches on the weekends.  I refuse to put up with the bennys that have no clue on how to act civilly...It is a shame but they ruin it for all that live here year round.

Last year fished the back bay on the Misty Morn and it one of the top 3 days they had all season.

This year, I'm going to do something that I've been wanting to do for several years. I plan on renting a skiff from the Oceanic Marina and hit the flats & channel edges of the Navesink. Have a good friend who's been fishing the river early in the aeason up til early June and has done very well. Plan on using light bucktails, shad darts & single killies. Also plan on bring some metal, soft plastics and perhaps a dozen sandworm. Will some luck maybe I'll catch a grand slam.

Sunday is a backyard day and Monday I'm hoping to get back out for some stripers.

Buddy made a recon trip off the Hook late yesterday afternoon. He only fished for just about an hour.  20 fluke, tons of sea robins.  No keeper sized fluke 5hrug

All returned safely to the sea.
