Friday night Raritan stinkfest...
« on: May 16, 2009, 12:51:01 PM »
Sucked , but was at least able to keep the skunk off me.

Launched KMB by 5 PM. After a short ride, found acres of birds working from Keansburg to Port Monmouth. Threw every lure in the box at them w/o a bump in a half hour. Set up on some marks and had demons on within minutes on bunker chunks. Stayed on the spot until slack tide but no stripers showed up.

Moved to the Reach and trolled stretches on the flats until the incoming came on. Again, a few blues, no bass.

Moved onto Round Shoal by 9 PM. No water movement at all. Drifted bunker chunks and clam in flat calm conditions. Caught only bass of the night going 24" on a clam bait. Headed to the barn by 11 PM. 1 bass better than none!!!
