Since I’m mainly a fluke/flounder fisherman I’ve been itching to go after Stripers. After fishing with Jerry and Wayne during flounder season, I knew I wanted to hook up with them again. I got my Dad and 15 year old nephew, Jake (from Helena, Montana) to jump on with me and were joined by LAB and Stelios. Being that this was the first time Striper fishing for the three of us, we were giving a quick lesson on live lining. We broke the inlet and went searching. Found plenty of bunker but no striped ones around. After several moves and a little time Capt. Jerry tells us to get ready! Then it’s on! Jake gets the first hookup and handles it all himself! After that we all join in on the fun with a few misses in between. LAB, the “master” of live lining is batting 1000 with no misses all night and a congratulations goes to Stelios on the 7 Spider Crabs! It was a beautiful afternoon to be on the water and to be fishing with a great group of guys! As for Jerry and Wayne – those guys are awesome! As tired as they were, they kept us out WAY past our time to make our first Striper experience was a memorable one! Really looking forward to our next trip!!!
