Clinton Reservoir Report Sun June 7th !
« on: June 08, 2009, 07:31:29 AM »
Met Steve at 8:15 am.

1st stop was the bait shop.

Once again there were no herring to be had.

So we purchased Med Shinners.

Took the 12 mile ride to Clinton & Launched Steve's Monark.

There was No wind so we slow trolled 2 rods to the middle of the reservoir. Not a bite.

As soon as we stopped trolling we set up on the 1st drift.

We had 7 rods out.

2 with slip bobbers and the other 5 lines were set at different depths.

The 1st rod that was hit was 1 of the slip bobbers.Steve was up 1st and landed a 2 lb Smallie. Now the other bobber was starting to go under and I landed a 3 lb smallie. For the next 3 hrs we bailed the smallies and also boated 4 Brown trout.

At 1pm we called it a day.

When we got back to Steve's house he fired up the grill & we polished off 3 racks of Ribs and a bunch of Cold beers.

A nice Sunday it was !

Hey Art, I went out on clinton reservoir maybe in the beginning of May and caught a nice 4 lb smallmouth along the right side near the rocks. Used a large gold mepps spinner. Lots of small trout by the boat launch when we were there. How big were the browns you caught ? Nice report, thanks for the info  TT^
Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.
