It's been frustrating lately trying to fish with back-up electronics so I was happy when my repaired unit came back Tuesday. By the way... Hummingbird turned my unit around in 2 days for the extra $20 shipping fee.
Anyway I plugged the unit in at the launch and all looked good until I got out in the bay to discover that I had no soundings cause when my unit went south it killed my Navionics Card too!!
So it's back to launch for a quick trip to Reynold's for a new chip and I was finally back in business.
We drifted some live baits to no avail, banged a few schoolie stripers on the surface when they paid a visit and played with the blues over in the warm water until the tide turned.
Once we had some movement I was able to get back on my old marks and we found some decent fish.
Had some good laughs especially when I had a pile of Italians on the deck between the consoles when I backed off the throttle unannounced.
