How to Remove old pinstriping?
« on: June 19, 2009, 12:06:46 PM »
Any easy way to do this?  I've heard of using solvents, heating it with a hair dryer-which is best for the boat/easiest to get off?

Thanks,

Dave

Heat gun, low setting,  use plastic razor blades to scrape off.

Heat gun or a good day in the 80's or 90's will work too with direct sun.

only use a razor blade on glass, if your removing anything else on the hull, just use the heat gun or dryer, as the razor will scratch the paint.

PLASTIC razor blades. They are made specifically to remove decals, pinstriping etc, from painted surfaces, gelcoat etc.
Get them at any auto parts supplier.
