Angela Rose 6/23 charter
« on: June 24, 2009, 09:32:04 AM »
Had Charlie, Robin, Keith and Charlie on a bass charter. Spotted bunker just north of the inlet and the snag hooks were given a workout. Found out that the live well was down for the count. Great, no way to keep them alive.  >:(

Loaded up with bunker and went on the search for bass. Only bunker school we could find with life on it had small blues, no stripers in the mix. Worked our way up to Shrewsbury Rocks with out seeing another bunker school.

Once at the rocks we set anchor over a drop off and started a chunking operation with our deceased bunker. First run, one 25 pound bass in the boat.  t^. Quickly had another run, bluefish.  :P From that point on all we landed were bluefish. Did have some runs from bass but could not get the hook into them. Finished the day boxing 15 blues and one lonely bass. Many rigs bitten off by the blues.

Made the trip back to the dock, stopping on several bunker schools that did not produce.

Yeah the live well  made it a little tough, and pissed off the charter at first. The boat needs some TLC. I don't think u should take apart a working live well and not finish it before a charter with live baits. That was an embarassing moment. I hope it is put back together and working for tomorrows charter.

That didn't work either  thud
You should've seen the deck of the boat, like somebody painted her bright blood red  cfzd

We had a good time and both Capt Joe and Capt Mike really put in the extra effort for us, but the bass just weren't there when we were  5hrug

Thanks again gentlemen  ;)
