Irish Ayes 48 lb bass
« on: June 25, 2009, 10:06:58 PM »
Had BobG, Peter and Matt out for a short afternoon/evening bass trip last night (Wednesday). Found some bunker north of the inlet and snagged some for bait.

Tried the Asbury area with no results. Moved south after hearing from Joey G and found more bunker. Moved out some and made a drift on a lump outside of the inlet. Hooked up with two bass, both about 30 pounds.

Was about to move back to our starting point and redrift the area when the sounder lite up with fish. Had the guys immediately put their lines back in and it was instant hook ups with all four lines.

BobG never got a hook into his fish but the other three were solid. Put several 25-30 pounders in the boat. I brought my fish in and it weighed in at 48 pounds on an uncertified scale. This girl was released after a quick picture session.

All told we kept three fish and release three.

Back to the dock before dark to clean up.  t^

Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.

Well, in the words of Hotrod:
"That's what you'll catch when you fish eight days a week!" rofla

Great catch Joe!  Congratulations on your new best striper!  You certainly helped a lot of others  catch their own personal bests this year - including myself (twice)!  Definitely well deserved.  Congratulations again my friend! t^
