Fishing at IBSP is a real pain in the @$$ anymore!  We went out there for a after dinner beach trip with the kids. ...
grtn  My favorite time of the year to be at IBSP use to be after Labor Day weekend.  Pfishingruven, just for the health of it, hope you and your family will give IBSP a second chance.   rofla

I have been spending a lot of time out there this year, and I haven't had any problems. I went out one night with a friend who is in a well known rock band and all his friends they left I guess around 1 am. I must have passed out in my chair around 3 or 4 am and woke up sitting there at 930 to find beer bottles and liquer bottles scattered every where. I'm sure rangers passed us while we were sleeping and no-one said anything. I quickly scrambled to clean up the mess and stayed till about noon just enjoying the beach. I hear stories of people getting a hard time and it baffles me. I don't drink so nights like that don't happen often, but I do spend a lot of time out there.

My biggest issue out there are the vulture fisherman who drive up and down the beach following the blitz. They show no regard to anyone else on the beach. I even had one of these dipshits cut my line during a blitz. We were parked for hours set up and fishing and a blitz started right in front of us and out of no where a group of jeeps like mine pulled right up on us and crashed right threw us to the surf.I understand the craze of seeing bass blitz the beach but have some damn respect.

For the most part like I said I have had no problems out there that I didn't bring on myself. Sure there are rules but I don't think they are hard to follow. I do feel at times that people who aren't fishing shouldn't be in the bb areas. If your there fishing and have your family that's one thing but you see huge groups of swimmers in the fishing area all the time.

The pass is a lot of money and for that alone we should have our own area. Try fishing the surf on a summer day on any other beach its not happening. Too many people not that you can't. Accept for the fishing beach in belmar and even that gets swimmers. Island beach is a convenience beach for fisherman that's all. Sure you can catch fish there but there is definitely better fishing beaches in NJ.  As for the pics I sent rod, that was a big catch from the beach.I am on using my blackberry so I can't see the pics he put up and don't remember what I sent him but that fish was over 100lbs no doubt. For new jersey that is a killer catch

Nothing but best wishes so you are better and free of as much pain as you can be.

I definitely don't doubt you are like a bull...I have a back injury NO WHERE near as bad as yours and I know I hurt and have to take it easy some time so...being up and about like you are is a testament in itself!
