Raritan Bay Flukin'
« on: July 24, 2009, 04:06:58 PM »
Slow fishing today, with wind against the tide.Weather forecast was for west wind at 5-10mph w/sm.craft warnings(hello).Caught shorts and robins, none in any great numbers.Tryed the usual spots, slow all around.Maybe a low salinity level? Who Knows. When wind and tide got in sync condition remain the same.First trip this year, with zero in the box.A lot of wood in the water.Big stuff!Be careful.Tight Lines!

if you want lots of flukes and some weakies you should head up to great kills park in staten island NY  using a pinkish colored jerk minnow by gulp and rig it carolina rigged and outgoin tide is the way to go up there

It was a slow day for just about everyone. And talk about wind against tide current at Romer. Did anyone see the breakers rolling over the shallows of Romer Shoal??????? I had to double back around and get to Ambrose going around the backside of the lighthouse. Too bad Ambrose didn't produce better after our initial drifts.Totally shut down around 10:00 am.

Trying again Wednesday on another charter.
