Sat July 25th Hampton Bays Report !
« on: July 27, 2009, 02:17:35 PM »
Steve picked me up at my house at 6:15 am.

No stops to make so Steve got us to the Hampton Bays in no time.

We arrived at 8:15 am.

The 1st spot we hit was the Ponquogue Bridge.

As we were setting up a guy hooks up.The guy faught the fish & landed it.Nice Fat Bass that measured 35".

Now I look to my right and another guy was hooked up but this time it was a seagull.

The guy reeled in the Bird and they guy untangled the Gull.

My Friend Steve yells Pollo !

I starting peeing & I yell out get the Rice  rofla

Let me tell you we had the day Laborers in tears !

They knew we were kidding around   ;)

Now it's time to start Fishing  !

Steve 1st cast he lands a short Fluke.

I cast out a rotten clam & my rod was doubled over in no time.I reeled the Fish half way in and the fish spit the Hook.

Had to be a Fluke   ???

We fished at the bridge for a good hr and never had another Bite.

Steve says Art let's hit our spot on the Beach.

We packed up our gear & off we went.

When we arrived the water was very high & we did not expect much because the Flood tide is usually slow.

I cast out another stinky Clam and my rod doubled over.I faught the Fish and landed my 1st keeper Bass. Now Steve casts out and he is hooked up and he lands a Keeper. We had 2 keepers in the Box in no time.Next Cast I get hit and the Fish wrapped me around some structure & I lost the Fish.Steve casts out and lands a 27" Schoolie. For the next 45 minutes we were catching Schoolies until Slack tide.

We waited until the start of the Ebb and thought for sure it was going to get even better but it never happened.

At 3 pm all 24 Heineken Light's were finished in the cooler  ;D  We packed up our stuff & I turn to Steve and said we are out of Beer.

Steve says no problem let's go to get some food at Brewsters and we can buy more Beer at the Shell Gas Station.I said good idea.

Now Steve says let me call my cousin Jeff & see if he wants company at his house in South Hampton.Steve calls Jeff and the call goes to Jeff's voice mail.Steve left Jeff a voice mail and 10 mintues later Jeff returns the call. The phone rings and it's cousin Jeff.I said Jeff where you at.Jeff said I just got back from a 20 mile bike ride I am going to hit the Beach and drink some beer.I said Jeff we will meet you at the Beach. We met up with Jeff and drank more Beer and enjoyed a nice swim in the Peconic Bay.At 8:30 pm we went back to Jeff's house and watched some Baseball and crashed out.

At 5 am Sun Steve wakes me up & says let's get on the road  nosmly

Steve dropped me off at my house at 7:15 am and by 8 am I went back to sleep.

Woke up around noon & it was a very lazy Sun.
