Mudhole charter question
« on: August 30, 2009, 07:22:14 PM »
Hi all,

First post here:

I fish within a few miles from shore for blues, stripers, fluke etc etc. Considering a future trip to the mudhole for tuna in a 27' HydraSports.

I'd like to get offshore first with someone who's out there regularly, to get a lay of the land and of course how to successfully fish for tuna.

Could anyone point me in the direction of a particular charter for a day trip? Willing to go from NJ or Long Island.

Thanks a lot

 - NB

Hi NB..  Welcome aboard.  This is a great jump start to your own Mud hole Tuna Trips..

I would look into
Capt Chris @ http://www.ardentangler.org/  also at www.catchthebite.com

and Capt Carl @ www.wetdreamsportfishing.com

Both these Captains will be more than happy to explain their techniques and how to's.. you won't get that from just anyone.

Please make sure you let us know how you make out  and don't be afraid to ask any questions about it.. we all could stand to learn something t^

Thanks a lot Hotrod. I will likely give one of those guys a call to see if they have availability this month. Hopefully the mudhole tuna bite continues...I haven't seen much posted since TS Bill and Danny passed offshore.

Capt. Carl, not looking too good...this pattern looks like it may be in place for another several days.
