How's this for a jetty pole?

Just found this on a Hawaiian site its really called hanging bait fishing.

I have to show you guys some of the rigs they use out there pretty cool and big.

Judging by the taper on the pole in the top photo, I'd say it's a big ol' piece of bamboo!

The wood is actually called Ohi'a lehua.  It is a very hare wood that grows in the islands.  Pretty cool stuff.
