Had Kyle,Da Blackfish Mvp,Rob, Rob Jr, Ralphy and Pat for a day of bottomfishing!
Started out with a slow pick of seabass... mostly shorts with a few nice keepers... Bite was sluggish... Kept bouncing around picking a few here and a few there but def no where near the fishing we seen inshore(state waters) last week.
Bite seemed to die and just get slower everywhere we went.
Seen some birds working so we broke out some jigs and played with some jumbo blues for a while...
Headed up north to see if we could find a porgy bite... But we only managed a few...
Headed inshore for a blackfish drop... Took a little while but they were chewin... Everyone got a couple keeper size fish keeping their 1 fish limit and releasing the rest.
Congrats to Ralphy thought he was all done after breaking off a hog... but recovered nicely by landing the biggest tog of the day at 7lbs 3oz... Rob Jr had to have the biggest porgy of the year. Kyle after a few shorts you were do for that keeper tog! Ralphy worms were packed in Mud!!!
It was a tough bite for us today but we put in a long day and a lot of miles to scrape together some fish for the cooler..
By days end the guys wound up with 48 keeper seabass, 10 porgies, limit of blackfish to 7lbs and a bunch of blues.
Fun Bunch Thanks Again Guys!!!
The next few weeks we Will be leaning toward Jigging Bass / Blues and then making a drop for togs in the afternoon! Should be some nice fun combo trips!
Give a buzz lets go fishing!!!
