Headed out late this morning to try and avoid some of the wind. Broke the inlet to a stiff NNW the made for a snotty ride out as we turned north.
The plan was to look for life and jig and if that failed troll. Well it failed alright as we saw nothing.
Setup trolling with 2 umbrellas out back. One with tubes and the other shads. We trolled, trolled, trolled, and trolled some more. Had a few bumps but nothing that came tight. Saw no life except for a few scattered birds the whole time. The fishfinder was covered with fish in about 40-45 feet most often.
Covered alot of ground around Shark River north and south. Am I missing something here?
The wind died down like it was sposed too and we decided to setup on some marks and jig. We also chunked bunker and wound up with a dogfish.
Next time.
