December Bass
« on: December 01, 2009, 02:49:02 PM »
Got out early on the beach locally was greeted by swirling bass. Threw a neddlefish and game on! Small 22-24". Caught a couple more then it died out. Hung around casting metal/teaser and connected on a 28" bass on the metal. But that was it.  Cooler but nice morning and a flat ocean  ;D

Was this during sunrise? I've noticed quite a few reports saying the stripers started hitting during sunrise. Early breakfast I suppose.

As soon as the sky brightens in the east the bass seem to get excited and some days you only get a half hour or so and others it pays to hang around. This morning I had a fish on my first cast but only managed 3 including one 28" bass. I stayed till 8:30. Most guys left earlier.THis time of the year they can bite any time of day. Just go when you can and have fun  t^

Went out early to the local spots. Started before first light and had a double almost right away on a needlefish/teaser both shorts. No hits after that till after dawn( no sun just you know...) Lots of fish around but fussy. Sloooooww presentation and teasers were the answer. Hung around finally a keeper size around 8 AM. Rain/wind had me out of there a little after 9. Smaller fish showed up but good action and lots of sand eels to bring em into the wash  ;D

Fished this morning locally by 6AM . Took a 24"bass on a small swimmer in the dark. That was it for me only one other hit and quit by 8AM. Ocean was really flat with very little wave action. Tomorrow looks bad (windy) maybe thats good.  ;D
