i know how to read the lat and long  what does each square represent a mile ?

The scale on the side of the chart, going north and south, one minute = one mile.

if you have a gps, just punch in the appropriate numbers, and it will do all the work for you.  Most charts will have the numbers of a particular location.  Don't worry too much about reading it, when your unit will do it for you...

my father and i just bought a lowrance lms 339c fishfinder gps......we are think about buying the nautipath software what are your opinions?

charts i have are "home port" charts and have alot of info on them to learn from. chart #6 will show long island to sandy hook out to 50 nmiles. also i have somethign i will email to you, you will need adobe to open it

Hey reel can you send me anything on maps loking for  a good raritan bay  map with  bottom structure and know how  far i MIGHT be able to go past hook like farms maybe?
