Raritan Bay Stripers 4/2
« on: April 02, 2010, 08:15:31 PM »
John and myself out of Sayreville this morning around 8:30 with a bushel of fresh clams.had to dodge a lot of debris in the water on the way out, wasn't to bad once we hit the open bay but water very dirty.set up clamming off Cliffwood beach a little after 9,stayed here until noon, chumming heavy without a touch.picked up and moved further out in the bay anchored and continued chumming heavy, wasn't here 15 minutes John hooks a 29 incher that goes in the box, continue to get some light hits and runoffs and John hooks one just over the 28 inch mark that goes in the box.we continue with an occaisonal light hit with no hook ups and was ready to pack it in around 3:30 when John gets a short, enough to make us hang for another half hour with nothing.packed up and headed in around 4.although I didn't catch any was able to get on fish and 2 went in the box.boat ran well for the shakedown cruise to start the season.was planning on going again tomorrow but this kid is tired, will enjoy the holiday W/E and give it another try Monday.      Kez
