Hunter 2-Raritan Bay Stripers 4-13-10
« on: April 13, 2010, 04:58:55 PM »
TT^     I pulled out of keyport late around 9:15am and head for the Union Beach area. The water was flat with a light wind and the water was 51 deg. The sky was overcast with a light occasional drizzle. After anchoring and chumming heavy I boated 3 short Striper's and a 14" winter Flounder that I caught on a rig I was playing around with. All fish were released.  I made a move across to the Raritan Reach channel area in search of bigger Striper's. I marked plenty of fish and dropped anchor on a nice spot. After a while with no luck the tide started to get slack. Up came the anchor and out went the Stretch 25's in red/white.  TT^ TT^ The hits come immediately singles and doubles. It was getting tough to handle everything alone. All these fish were keepers up to 36". I boated 4 keepers and lost plenty more boatside because I only have 2 hands. fcp fcp
I decided to release all the fish anyway because of a tight schedule and no time to clean them. I head back to the marina around 2:30 and left the fish biting strong. chrz  Good Luck,, Eddie
