 Ok since the rocks are kinda far is there another place for me to go and try for sea bass?? if I did the calculations correct from morgan to rocks is like 24 nm.... and Monkey said it took him  about 1 1/2 to get there so any place closer

Bunch of 'sticky' pieces (wrecks, rock piles etc.) that are in the area known as "Between The Channels" that have yielded me some nice hauls of sea bass in the past. Also some along the Swash Channel-west of Romer's Light.

any structure will be good for sea bass.  NOW, the only problem is finding structure in your area.

There is structure all up and down the coast in the form of wrecks that hold large quantities of Sea Bass just find these wrecks and your good to go.  I am sure Capt. Ed will jump in here soon to fill you in.

Problem is his (our) areais the back of Raritan bay By Keyport/Laurence Harbor a good 20-30mn from Sandy Hook. Not much back there for sea bass.

Head out to O/O Light and point your bow toward West Bank Light.  Travel that line and watch your recorder. You'll find what your looking for

Perhaps you can trailer your boat closer to the ocean and put in there.  The Shrewsbury Rocks would then be reachable from Sandy Hook or Shark River.  If you go out of Shark River you are about ten miles from the Rocks.  That will get you there in plenty of time and you will have plenty of fuel.  There are also many spots on the Sea Girt Reef that produce nice sea bass.  That is only six miles out of Shark River and even closer to Manasquan.
Just another option to think about.

A good spot to look for wrecks would be some dive sites for instance I typed in Wrecks in Raritan Bay and a number is sites came up for instance:

Old Orchard Shoal Light: N40 30.7  W74 05.9
West Bank: N40 32.3  W74 02.6

The bearing from OO to West bank is 59 deg. true.

You will be in NY waters. I do not know if the regs. are different for sea bass there.
