Rich and Powerful Elites Throw Party Bash for BP CEO Tony Hayward

www.SeizeBP.org  June 11, 2010

It can’t get much more disgusting than this. At the moment that tens of thousands of people are seeing their jobs, livelihoods, small businesses and way of life ruined, when a pristine environment has been destroyed has been shattered,  BP’s Tony Hayward flew to London for a big party organized on June 7 at BP’s headquarters by the company’s ultra-rich and powerful supporters.

A party of the British elite to salute Tony Hayward and BP? Can that be for real?

The elites came to have fun and show support for Hayward, who was described as “a man of steel.” It was an interesting and revealing mix of the British and European upper classes. The head of the British Intelligence Agency, MI6 was there. So too was Vodafone CEO Vittorio Colao and advertising mogul Sir Martin Sorrell, who made a neat $20 million last year—more than $380,000 each week or $54,000 every day.

Right now, they are rallying to Tony. But, of course, Hayward could be seen as “disposable” if BP, with assets of $152 billion, needs a fall guy to deflect the growing mass anger of people who demanding the seizure of BP’s assets to pay for damages and compensation. They could give Tony a multi-million dollar severance/bonus for “his good work” and bring in a new face to front for the criminal enterprise and try to shield it from fully paying for the human and environmental damage caused by their lies, greed and reckless disregard for safety.

Something like 64% of bp's employees are Americans like real Americans from the US of A. So when they go bankrupt well there's just a few more jobs lost. Check me on that stat TruckSaleMob...

So what you're saying is that they're too big to fail? thud

Maybe we can bail them out, like Bush did for the banks. t^ nosmly

OR

Maybe you're saying they shouldn't pay for the damages they've caused to the other Americans that have been put out of work because of this mess. >:(

I honestly didn't think pushing for a company to pay restitution and for them to do what's right for those who have been wronged by this toxic soup in our ocean was a political statement.  But apparently some people think it is. ::)
