Irish Ayes bassing and BSing with the Wink_Man.
« on: June 12, 2010, 06:08:31 PM »
We spent Friday afternoon/evening looking for the striped ones. On board were BobG and Wink_Man Garry.

We broke the Shark River Inlet at 230pm and after a short time searching we had some bait pods marking on the machine. Spent some time from small pod to small pod gathering bait. It took a while to round up a dozen and a half bunker.

Tried several spots (structure) in a vain attempt to hook a bass. These spots have produced for us in the past when we weren't marking fish. Unfortunately, they didn't produce on this trip.

We did go 0-2 with the bass, having quick runoffs. Also had a bunker bitten in half by a blue fish.

Although we didn't catch our bass a fun time was had just BSing the night away.   chrz

Hello wb, a pleasure to see you. Garry doesn't come here anymore, please don't put Joe in the middle of it asking him, thank you. I suggest you ask hotrod, LOL, it's not worth my time explaining, and no offense to you, I've just wasted enough time here. Again, a pleasure to see you.

Joe,
Thank you for the invite, it was a pleasure spending the afternoon with you and Bob, BSing and catching up on things. GREAT boat you have there, though I may be just a little biased on that one, LMAO.

Considering the state of the striped bass fishery as of May 26th, when the purse seiners started, I consider it a successful day that we at least managed to snag bunker in our area, let alone catch a striper.

I never measure the success of the day in fish caught. More importantly, it was a wonderful day to be alive out on the water, spending time catching up with good friends, and 2 runoffs to get us at least a little excited. Plus, snagging bunker is an adventure in itself, especially when you snag one a long way off, get it almost back to the boat, and it comes off, LOL.

Thank you again, I truely enjoyed the afternoon with you and Bob, and hope to see more of you in the future.

Garry
