Fished the JCAA Fluke Tourney today
« on: June 12, 2010, 07:05:59 PM »
Fished the JCAA Fluke Tournament today. Tried our luck at an off shore wreck hoping to pick a doormat, didn't happen. Moved north and fished east of the rocks. Boated four keepers up to twenty-three inches (four pounds) and ten shorts down to twelve inches. Had thirteen seabass with the biggest a nice knucklehead at ninteen inches (wish there was a catagory for them).

Ended the day early when the south wind blew up the ocean pretty good.

Weighed our four pounder in with hopes (slim) of it holding up to maybe at least placing in one of the bottom spots (twelve winners per port).

Saw TNT Bobber and crew land a nice fish. Should get them something for that one.  t^

At least you had one to weigh.  From what we've been seeing in the way of fluke reports, that 4 lber may get you something. t^

That was a nice fish and would have taken first place in many of the ports Tom. What port did you fish out of?

As expected, got knocked out. Lowest payout was to a 4.25# fish. There's always next year...better yet, next tornament.  t^

I bet that was closer than you thought Joe. I wonder what that place paid out... Let alone the buy in for the tournament per person. I was in the JCAA winter flounder tournament like 3 years ago, caught 1 keeper but no place chance.  5hrug
