Saturday's morning trip was pretty good overall. Was feast or famine. Had some with their limit of fluke, others with none. Very decent amount of total keepers and pool fish at 4lb.
Saturday's evening charter had a good pull of keepers. Good action and had a few drifts where the keepers came out to play in force.
Sunday we had hoped for better conditions but bounced around looking for keepers. Had some slow drifts but we'd drift over a nice patch of fish and would have mutliple hook-ups. Had one fluker that had his limit on Saturday's trip come back to do it again and that he did. Quite a few onboard with 2-4 keepers. Some with none, others with 1-2 keepers. One regular had 30 shorts and no keepers though he tried all day long. Another angler dropped his rod over and the guy next to him was reeling up so tried and succeeded to snag it. They got the rod back over and it had a 3.5# fluke attached to it. Now that's luck huh?
Did seem bucktails produced slightly better but our pool fish came on a bait rig with bait and gulp on it. A nice 6lb fish for Rich.
Had gottog Mike out and he managed 4 keepers along with numerous just-short fish. He also hooked a nice jumbo blueclaw on his bucktail. Guess crabs like gulp as much as the fluke do.
Bay is loaded with bunker and we came across one school while drifting that had some nice bluefish on them. They put a bend in quite a few anglers' rods and bit off a few bucktails as well.
All in all a decent pull of fish. Very good action with the shorts and overall a fair amount of keepers.
