coming from philly to nj fishing
« on: July 15, 2010, 12:33:05 PM »
I am close to Philadelphia pa and I was wondering what are some pretty close places to go in nj to fish for fluke and stripers. Considering it is late july mostly fluke. I am pretty much just firmilar to south jersey like cape may where I go on vacation. Im pretty much just looking for a few spots I can run to and fish for awhile here and there but not drive two hours to get there like cape may lol. Any help would be great

Hello,

I live just south of Philly here are the closest places I have found.....

(South Jersey a little over a hour to get to) Brigatine, Atlantic City, Margate

(Delaware Bay around hour and a half) Fortescue

I am trying out Point Pleasant this week end this looks like a bit over a hour and a half drive.

With 2 to 3 kids with me each trip I try and keep the driving time minimal and go on 4 hour trips which is about the max of their attention span.

Regards,

Chris

I'm in Central Bucks and it takes me 1 1/2 hours to Brielle & Belmar and little more than that to the Atlantic Highlands.

Both of these should be easy to map. IBSP is south of Seaside. Barnegat Light is northern most part of Long Beach Island. If you are coming on the weekend the traffic is bad.

Here Ya GO...

http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Island+Beach+State+Park&state=NJ&country=US&latitude=39.843891&longitude=-74.086937&geocode=CITY

If the link does not work just type in "Island Beach State Park, NJ". It will work.
