What do you guys do with fish carcasses?
« on: July 19, 2010, 11:57:08 AM »
Of course this thread is assuming you can't dump them at the dock for the crabs.  The Keyport Muni Ramp can get really hairy at times, so sometimes I don't have time to fillet at the ramp.  I have tried to bag the carcass in airtight bags but it never works and the stench in my garbage literally will flow for a block down the road.  My neighbor thought I killed a raccoon once haha.  Not sure if there's any solution.   5hrug

The marina requires no dumping over the side so,usually tie em up in garbage bags and place them in the dumpster at the marina. But unfortunately the dumpster really stinks and there is always blood and guts and water seeping all around.Others I have spoken with bury them in the garden for fertilizer.

Don't have a garden, but burying them is looking like the best option.  The gf would not be too happy with fish carcasses sitting in the freezer, especially come time for the fall striper run.
