Nj Reefs for Fluke / sea bass

I have fished most of them, but was curious what everyone else thought. Axel Carson seems to be the most diverse with a little bit of everything out there with plenty of depth changes in the water. Little egg reef is my least favorite.

GSS, Mainly because it's close to home and I had some really nice days of fluking out there! Last summer in mid to late Aug. I did alot of fishing at a spot out there where there were markers. Not sure what they were for but the flounder were there every trip! I even named it "The F Hole" in my GPS. They weren't there yesterday though. Timing is everything!!

If I was a good as you are from the beach, I dont think I would ever go out on a boat.I have read your post on that topic several times and its awesome! Then again the way you read the water from the beach if I took you out on my boat you could "read the reefs" I could ditch my depth finder for the day. We could call you the reef whisperer

Trust me I have, there are more days that the skunk has trashed my cooler than most.  But this year the Spring run was a lot of fun.  Plus, if the Spring run was that good I am looking forward to the Fall Spectacular.  I have not been out for a while as the heat, flies and other of life's barriers have gotten in the way.  I hope to get out soon at night for some good sharking.

i fish these two reefs also but it's the opposite for me. i seem to do better on the seagrit

I do not fish it but since part is in state waters axle carson would be the best.  for Sea Bass and fluke.  It you are trying to fish Little egg move on.  Slow is not the word there how about a desert.  I have found alot of star fish and when I start to find them I move to other areas.

I agree about LER . The only time I've done good out there is very late summer as the fluke pass through leaving the bays and and little egg inlet.I should have put the a/c reef on the poll. I have done well there but its a hike for me both on the water and on the roads getting down there.

AC reef would have gotten my vote.  I fish it most days that the ocean will let me.  A hike but well worth it.  Not alot of boats go there do to the travel.  Some nice big pieces and will be getting more dumped this year on it.    

The winter storms and the beach project here on LBI has moved alot of sand around on the LER and GSS.  Not not what they were last year.  Many of my prime spot are covered with sand.

More and more commercial gear showing up on all of the reef sites. Which means they all hold fish. Ever try fishing natural structure?  Alot of fishermen get caught up in the reef numbers and over look hills, ridges, holes etc. Yes, we have all fished the rocks, but try getting away from the reefs, you might be surprised at what you catch. <'((((><

Actually I have....i'm always looking at the charts looking for that hidden gem. Many times when you find one you see boats passing by heading out to the reefs driving right over fish to get to fish . Its always a good idea to try one spot every trip that you dig up on the chart. A few years ago a buddy and me while striking out at 2 reefs stopped at a spot we looked at on the chart and what do you know KEEPERS!
