No Explanition!!!!
« on: July 28, 2010, 12:51:21 PM »
Last weekend before leaving for the ocean I was checking the oil and saw alot of white/gray gooky oil in the hull! Pulled the dipstick and it was 2-1/2 qts. low. This motor never uses any oil!!! I figured right away I had a leak so I cleaned it all up (what a mess) searched all over and could find nothing! I thought Rear Main Seal so I ran the boat with rags under it and nothing! I did notice that the PCV hose had fallen off, but there was no signs of oil around it on the motor! Changed the oil and filter again and went out yesterday. When we got in I checked it out and Dry As A Bone! Just doesn't make any sense!  :headscra:
I'm one to really wanna know that all is ok before going out. I'm pretty mech> inclined (even though I can't spell it)  rofla It's driving me nuts nts

You sure there wasn't a banana on the boat???   rofla
The cure for everything is salt water: sweat, tears, and the sea.

If it is an I/O, Check the trim-tilt reservoir or tilt the unit and see if you get oil in the bilge.
the trim hoses could have sprung a leak.  Again if it is a I/O
Forgive your enemy but, remember the bastard's name.

whs....also white/gray color could mean saltwater contamination

Keep an eye out. Not sure on this one myself. Was the low oil just a coincidence with the junk in the bilge?

Thanks Matt! No it's gone and hasn't happened again! I think that the pcv hose leaked the oil and have since put a clamp on it. TT^
