Dopes on the water( unreal)
« on: August 08, 2010, 04:58:28 PM »
Hey This is not a report but this section gets read the most. Today 2 amazingly stupid morons paddled a canoe from the lighthouse to the old cable crossing on Island Beach State Park. Yep right across the inlet. I should of taken a picture so people could identify the bodies later this week. I hope no body gets hurt with the recovery as I am sure these poor clueless souls will attempt the return crossing on the out going tide. Yep in case you were wondering ........no life jackets. I am guilty of using poor judgement at times on the water but this ranks in the top 3 of stupidest things I have seen. I know the 8 year olds I had on board learned a lot today much of it was things to never do.

I always try to think about the people that have to help or rescue us when we get in trouble. Some times bad things happen and good people are there to help. Stupid things do not need to happen. I do not mean poor judgement...... I mean really stupid things putting people at risk. The only other time that I got sick to my stomach seeing a boater this season was watching a guy in a 25 cuddy running 35 knots into a  very large 7 second ground swell with a very young child holding on to the bow rails as they jumped the waves. Sick and very angry.... I thought how much does that guy hate that young child? I still get sick even thinking about it

Lets hope they got back SAFE...
Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

They might have been the same ones I saw on Friday paddle out of the Squan Inlet on the outgoing tide and head south. nosmly
Almost got run over by a head boat coming in. a few four letter words were shouted at them.
Good things come to those who bait
