Quote
Two fishermen became stranded at the Monument on the South Jetty at the Banegat Inlet on Monday evening, Aug. 9.

The two men had walked to the end of the jetty unaware that their egress would become submerged with the incoming tide. As the tide rose and waves rolled in, they clung to the Monument and beckoned for help.

A man on a jet ski contacted the Coast Guard and a local rescue team soon arrived.
