Here's the scoop !

The night captain was coming back in and cut the tip of the hook a little too short right by the rip. For those of you who know the area, it has changed drastically this year after the Noreaster we had last winter. The beach is now only 20 yeards from the 11 bouy at the tip and the rip that was there for years has moverd further east.

The good news in all this is no one was hurt. They were able to pull the boat off the beach when the tide came in and the only repairs needed were propellers. They had them repaired the following day and are back in business.

I'm real glad there was no major damage and no one was injured. that would be embarrising for one of us amatures, really embarrising for a pro.

In addition to the tip of the hook constently changing, you have to realize that the GPS reading you get in that location is off around 200 yds as it is near a Military instalation (USCG Base).  This is done intentilnally as to throw off any missle guidence systems, etc


Check your reads near the USCG and NWS Earle and see

The Mi Jo was the last boat I was on with my old man.  We went out for spring stripers and he was having some serious issues with his heart at the time, but he was determined to do some fishing.  For that the Mi Jo kind of has a special place for me, so it's sad to see her laid up like that.  Glad there was little damage and she's back up and running!
