Here we go!....2 Hurricanes headin our way!
« on: August 25, 2010, 06:03:17 PM »
1st up...Hurricane Danielle...should be a Cat II Hurricane but has the potential to be a blow to the East Coast......
2nd is T.S. Earl....this one has more potential of the 2 to impact the east coast based on the forcasted track (note the RED Track line on this storm)if this one develops properly...this could possibly turn into a Cat III Hurricane and make landfall on the mid to northern portion east coast.

The way it looks now it should stay out to sea.  I have been watching it as well and there is a trough to the north that will keep it on a northern tract but once that passes the storm might turn to the left slightly.  It is a wait and see for now.

Click on the map to enlarge.

If this works you can see a slight movement to the north.  Watch and see if the trough pushes it more north.

yeah...looks like both storms will pass east of Bermuda  t^
probably will get some ground swell from them but we wont need to batten down the hatches!

It looks like the upper level trough is weakening just a tad just enough to allow the hurricane to jog a little to the northwest.  This would be a problem here but there is a stronger trough coming out of Canada that will rake down and cause the hurricane to swing back to the east.  As it progressed northward it will begin to pick up speed and eventually curve out to sea where it will become extra-tropical.

http://www.goes.noaa.gov/HURRLOOPS/huirloop.html

The seas will probably be pretty snotty the beginning of the week as the storm nears but will be out of our area in a very short time.

Earl is too far to start to speculate where if will go at this time for us.
