10-09-10 Bass Report with pics

After running and gunning chasing tuna all over the Atlantic it was nice to get out and catch some fish without putting 3 days work and a small fortune into it. Left the inlet just before 0600 with a crew of Lenny and Frank - by 0630 we were lines in and trolling for stripers. When the sun came up so did the fish and they were all over the top but would not eat anything I was dragging. Found the right marks and started dropped Avas - pretty much drop and reel fishing for the next couple of hours. We were limited out by 0800 and continued to play catch and release until 0930. Caught approximately 15 bass from 28-40" and about half as many bluefish. On the way home by 1100. Great day on the water - God Bless America and God Bless Our troops.

great morning for you with the Striped ones  t^ we found the birds and marks after 8:30 and we missed the bite, only a few large blues. looks like the early bird gets the stripe. congrats again on some nice stripers.     Kez

An ava is a brand name of a diamond jig there's several manufactures but most b&ts sell avas
