Fishermen fishing report 10/14/10
« on: October 14, 2010, 04:56:19 PM »
Too say you  need "Tough Skin" to be a Party Boat Captain is an understatement!!
One day a hero, next day a bum is the norm. After 33 years at the helm, pulling rabbits out the A**, running all over the ocean and so on...
Leaving the dock today (after yesterdays fishing) knowing the bite had to be on, then getting kicked in the crotch with the bite that didn't happen leaves us with the question "WHY".
Hell, If I could answer that one, I'd be rich!
Had life between the channels in the AM, turned out to be small bluefish, ran down the beach, for what looked like "the Mother load", found small blues and small weakfish, the fish finder was solid on them. Didn't want to kill those tiny weakfish for no reason, so we got the hell outta there.
Managed a couple bass jigging but that was short lived. The area we fished yesterday that had unbelievable life, ended up being a desert with only a short and a keeper striper to show for our efforts.
Bad day? Yes. Did we give it hell? Yes...Still doesn't make me feel any better!!! Too add fuel to the fire, we just lost 2 charters with the forecasted weather for Friday and Saturday.
Good thing I gave up the Scotch or I'd be in a coma by Sunday!!!

All of your fares know that you put in a solid 100% effort. You can't do any more than that.  t^

Hey Capt. Ron,  man do I share your pain....  Took dear old dad out for a day of fishing (ended up bringing him back to the dock an hour later - guess the chop was too much for him).  Ran out again because I was convinced the fish would show up with the tide change.    They never showed up.  Yet the day before, bass were everywhere..  well at least it wasn't a paid charter..been there, done that.  Good effort on your part.. 5hrug
