I like a 3/0 "30" class reel with 65-80lb Braid. The high gear ratio with a retrieve of 38-42" per crank makes it easier on the angler. 20-40 lb class rod 6'6 is also a nice match. The most important thing is the braid and a medium to heavy action rod. Everything else is just luxury. Most of your striper or wreck fish outfits should be fine. That is my two cents.
