LBI surf fishing

Fished off of the north end of the island with bunker...couldn't hold with 8oz and a bunker head...caught nothing.....Threw a diamond with a red gill as a teaser....caught nothing (except my bunker line what a mess)....Went on the bay side to do a little crabbing.....caught nothing....But my buddy Tom got a new reel and rod and we had a good day!!!   rgmn thud

am I the only one that uses the weights with the little legs on them????   I like them, less weight, and holds bottom very well

All i used before  was pyramid or spider weights off the surf....but I'm just a rookie at this!!! ;D   How do you rig up egg sinkers as a surf application?  How much do you usually have to use?  Do you have more fouling and twist?  Thanks for the help!!! ;D grtn

I never use egg sinkers in the surf....occasionally a drail to add to the cast for a metal. I meant those new sinkers with the wire legs, don't know what they are called

Spider sinkers...I think is what they are called....I had a 8oz one of those and it didnt hold!!  But yeah they are nice.  Had a couple issues with getting them tangled...but they do hold well.  That current yesterday was STRONG!!!

Ive been on daddy duty all day today while the wife is spending money.....I am going to do the leaves thing tonight on the tractor with a hand warmer and a cold one!!!  turn the TV towards the window and watch the game!!  Thats the only way to clean up the leaves!!! ;D rofla

I personally have not tried them but I have a friend that swears by them.  I guess I am not into trying thingsd new especially if the old way works.  But I should try them just to see the difference for my self.
