Had Stelly and the gang aboard for the blackfish opener... Dave bacala, Cool Hand Al, Ryan Scubanut, Jmurr Joey and Wilson rounded out todays All Star crew.
Got to the grounds and as soon as both anchors came tight the Blackfish started flying...One stop shoppin... nice size boxers in the 2-5lb range outnumbered the shorts... great chew... racked them up at a quick pace... Nothing huge but we had a couple of chunky 7lbers for the big fish... Cooler filled up quick n the Guys boxed up a Limit by 8:45 am. They were even nice enough to urge Wayne and Myself to get involved in the action. Thanks Fellas!!!
Played around with some more tog for another hour hoping for a Jumbo.
Then Got a call from Capts Joe G and Richie (thanks again fellas) that the bass popped up towards home asked the guys and they decided to give it a try n that would be a great way to end the day.
Got on scene and the birds were pretty much in every direction ya looked... Great readings and dish splasin on top... Started jigging and had fish on instantly... alot of big blues with 2-4 Keeper bass Mixed in every drift...
Got 1 Super Good crack at them and the guys were all boxed up with a Limit of Stripers and a load of Blues by 12 oclock!!!
We are not ones to go in early but today was the exception and the guys had enough... Back to the dock by 12:30 with lots of filleting to do!!!
Lab better change the odds Jmurr and Coolhand Al were pullers today... outfishing da big man
What an awesome day of fishing... one to remember!!!
By days We caught around 60 keeper Blackfish to 7lbs with everyone keeping Limit, Along with a Limit of Stripers and a bunch of blues... All By Lunch time!!!
