Bach party ?
« on: July 15, 2007, 08:18:45 PM »
I was thinking of takin a friend of mine and like 5 others on charter for his Bach party. figure we all split the cost and go out for day. He is getting married in Sept. Now my question is this  What to fish for and when should we go out??  Are charters expensive I think its  good idea BUT this guy has to catch something he freaks when he doesnt lol

we've done 2 of them on party boats for sea bass.

did the 7am to 2pm trips for both. booked a hotel close to the boat then hit the hotel so everybody could shower and head out for a nice dinner.

Expense depends on what you are going to target.  Perhaps one of the sponsors here can accommodate what you need and give you an idea on cost.

What to target depends on when you will be going, but a seabass trip at the right time is always productive.  Besides that, they are excellent table fare.

the sea bass don't put up much of a fight. mainly fish for them to fill the freezer.

the shark/tuna trip is great but can easily be skunked. also many captains will not allow drinking until the return to port is underway.

Shark and tuna are very costly, and as Hareball said the action can be slow, still early in season, and you usually can't get loose on these trips. I would recommend if you want some action and a sporty fight go bluefishing and get the back of the boat.
