11-30 tog/bass attempt
« on: November 30, 2010, 06:32:04 PM »
left the marina with the goal of hitting 17 fathoms for some tog then some bass on the way back in. Rounded the hook and hit the crap that was not suppossed to be there till this afternoon. Made it out to the end of SH channel after a really long , nasty and wet ride. Asked everyone if they wanted to continue on to either 17 or the reef and got one NO. Other two guys were ok but I have a rule. One guy ready to go in then we go in.    Well that only applies at night on the last drift...LOL.  But we did not go any deeper.  We drifted and chased birds till a little past noon. A few schoolie run offs is all we did.     The 1-2 footeers and then 2-4 footers were more like 3 6 footers if not more. Only two other small boats out there, a Parker and a Mako cc. A couple PB's. The ride in was good except for dumping a half bushell of crabs at the rock wall in the AHMM. What a waste. I hope they make many babies.

Good try and you probably made a wise decision not to make the run out to 17. The ocean looked nasty from the beach at Belmar today.  cfzd

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
