Show was good, I attended some of the seminars that I did not make last year. Food was better, free drink tickets were readily available  chrz , found out I might be partially retarded , as I could not throw the cast net as instructed  rgmn . Met some good people, and had fun, not sure if I'll attend next year unless some new topics are added, or I decide to attend the surf seminars,  5hrug ???. <'((((><

Did you attend Adam's or John Flores' seminars on popping and jigging BFTs?  Those are the two I would have like to have seen.

John Flores was FANTASTIC ! For this being his first ever seminar, he aced it.  TT^ I learned alot, put some myths to rest, and we missed you this year Bob!

Adam was good, explaining alot about lures and plugs used for Tuna, and also explaining how poppers are not that great in NJ waters, best saved for the southern areas. <'((((><

Wish I could have made it too.  But...

Anyway, I'm curious about those "myths" you mentioned.  Can you expand on that?

Myths being that the tuna are wary of the line/knots. John stated and showed us the"PR Knot" & the "AG Chain Knot", which do not scare the tuna, he stated the tuna are hitting out of aggression and just slam the jigs, and that sometimes the double line knots extending longer up the main runnung line make the difference in keeping tight vs loosing the fish.

Assist hooks, the bigger the better, attached to the top is best, and to attach the hook tight to the jig with a rubber band if tou get hits, but fail to hook up.

Smaller jigs for tuna are better, and to use center balanced jigs for a lot of flutter. ( 100-200 gram).

Low speed 4-1, slow, steady retreive, use metered line to better get into the strike zone as shown on the sonar/fish finder.

Pink/silver, followed by all pink are his best colors.

After the bite, let the fish take the line( will zip off 100 yards, then crank tight, go to the gimbil/belt, then go back to under arm when the fish is verticalor you will break the pole or line.

100 lb min leader.

Sometimes you need to drop below them , rip through them, slightly pausing, then ripping again, provoking strike.

I might be missing some Bob, my notebook is still out in my truck. I hope it helps, I wish I had video of the seminars. <'((((><
