If you are targeting spearing 3/8" mesh is too big. You will be spending a lot of time picking the gilled bait out of the net. 1/4" would be the max to use for spearing. If you can find a 3/16" that is the way to go. You won't find the 3/16" mesh locally, internet sale or special order.

Obviously, the smaller the mesh, the more expensive.

idk about the money order thing but the big outdoor outfitters (cabelas, bass pro shops, tackledirect, etc) should have at least a small selection
