I went yesterday, I think it was in florida, no snow and 58 degrees.  I also went to the ny show and I think the ac show was better. I did get intrested in a new boat. but reallity won out and I left. good show better than javits center.

The NY show has been going down hill for several years now. They had a prime week for it but someone else with more $$$ wanted that spot and got it. The boat show was changed to the week between Christmas and New Year and it hasn't been the same since. At least now they don't have that week anymore, maybe they will start getting some boat companies back.  nosmly

Went to the AC show on friday.  Not as many boats as usual.  Still was pretty decent and wasn't terribly crowded.  Most shocking to me was Grady was focused on displaying.....BOWRIDERS!!!  Don't get me wrong, they're beautiful, but Grady focusing on bowriders is akin to Dylan going electric.

I think Grady is trying to pull more families to their boats than fishing guys lately.

Man I guess, it just seems sacreligious to imagine some old biddy named Muffy sipping wine spritzers in the bow of a Grady.  I will say, Hydrasports, Mako, and Edgewater really had some beautiful fishing machines on  display.

Went to the AC show today. Started off attempting to park at the Convention Center, nope, garage full. Went over to Trump Plaza, parked for $5 and got the free shuttle from there to the front doos of the show.

Soo many people, as to be expected for a weekend. Very long lines waiting to board the very big sailboats & Yachts, I passed. Stopped by Tournament Cable and spoke with Chuck, great guy. Checked out some reels and without mentioning any names, imported crap being passed off as "Made in the U.S.A.". Nothing wrong with imported equipment, alot of it is quality stuff, some is not. Spoke to alot of nice people and had a good time, purchased a few things.

Took the shuttle back to Trump Plaza, stopped by the casino in an attempt to win $250,000 to buy the boat I wanted at the show, NOPE! Had a great dinner and headed home. These free tickets sure did cost me alot of money. :headscra:  <'((((><

yep I think Grady has a 17, 19, 23, 25, and 27 "dual console" now. to you and me it's a bowrider. they are going for the "inland lakes/family fun fish/ski/cruise" crowd. I think the 25 can handle a Yami 350-- now that'll pop up a few skiers. put a t-top w/some rocket launchers on it and it's mighty fishy. but I'm prejudiced...
