How hard is it to replace cable and is there any diagrams to do so

I've done a couple but, spread out within the last ten years. I forget more than I remember.  Just take your time.  go to www.mercstuff.com     
Go to shiftcable replacement area it will show you the  shift cable parts plus you can click on to replacement instructions.  Also You tube should have a video on replacement.  Hope this helps and good luck
