rookie boating question

First time boat owner, planning on keeping it and using it on Barnegat Bay this year.  Should I buy tow isnurance?  is towusa worth it and a good idea?

I am a rookie as well and will have a slip in the bay.  Majority of use will be out at sea though. Is it worth it for my boat as well?

Need it once and it pays for itself. Seatow and BoatUS are both good.

So, two years ago I was fishing 1/2 mile off the beach at Asbury Park. At the time I kept my boat at the western end of the Metedeconk River.

Well, my engine died (turned out the alternator died)and I was stranded. I was subscribed to Sea Tow. I called them and they came and got me and towed me back to my marina. The bill was $1500.00, of which I paid exactly $0.00 (I did tip the capt. $100.00 but that was my choice.) The $140 (I think that's how much it is?) is well worth price. Use it once and it more than pays for itself.

Aside from the financial logic, there's also the safety in having a service that you can call and rely on in case something happens. There's value in that too.

If you're staying in the bay, get it (the bay gets pretty snotty at times), if you're going into the ocean, definitely get it!

YES ABSOULOTLY  t^ Unlimited Towing plan, Seatow or Boat US both go for the same money, you use it one time it pays for itself! TT^

thanks everyone I appreciate the advise, sounds like I will do asap.  This forum has been sucha  big help to me as a new boater, thnaks for everyone being so willing to help without judgement!

Pay the $149 now or the $1000 later.

If you are in a car and break down ou can put off the road, can't do that in a boat.

Even if you never use it, it is well worth it just for the piece of mind
